AskReddit: People Share Things They Know But Aren't Supposed to Know

You may or may not have heard of Reddit. Reddit essentially is a massive collection of forums, where people can share news and content or comment on other people’s posts. A lot of that content so happens to be a lot of people's personal stories. The question on this forum is "What is something you know but you’re not supposed to know?". Here are some of those people's shocking answers.

1. My mom had a child out of wedlock and gave him up for adoption. This was the early 70’s.

2. My great grandparents were also brother and sister. I don't want to believe it but I totally do.

3. My mom told me of a couple in her home town who later found out they were siblings. They had somehow been separated at a very young age during WW2 and met again when they were older, not knowing they were siblings. Somehow it was figured out after they'd had a few kids.

4. How my parents met. Mom was a stripper and dad just happen to go there.

5. For Christmas my stepmom bought my dad a pretty cool custom sports jersey with the number 04, when my fiancĂ© asked her what the number stood for her reply was “To represent our family, my two daughters, him and myself” completely leaving me out of the equation. She doesn't know that I know.

6. When I was 6 years old I had Leukaemia and it broke my family's heart, and they tried to hide it from me but each night I heard my mother tearing up before she slept beside me. I didn't know what I had but with all the doctors I thought this is the end, me thinking I was doing the right thing I zoned out so that when I die they will miss me less, BUT here I am. In September I will be 18.

7. My mum lived with and took care of my grandma but her will leaves all the money and property to mum's younger brother who visit once or twice a year. It really do be like that sometimes.

8. My grandmother got mad at my mom and told me that my parents sold drugs to put me through college. My mom doesn't even like alcohol in the house so this was definitely a shocker.

9. That my grandfather was into bestiality. When I was a teen and still visited my grandparent's house I would log into YouTube with my own account on the family computer there because it was convenient. One day I forgot to sign out before going back home and for about 5 days (I stayed over at my grandparents every weekend) I was able to see the kind of stuff my grandpa was searching for on YouTube because he didn't know where else to find this kind of stuff. I know I could've just paused my search history, but I was sickened yet curious how far this would go.

10. My racist dad has a black son. He reached out to me on Facebook. He asked me to help him meet our father but I told him it wasn't worth it. He's a shitty person. He told me that's his decision to make. That's true but I kind of want to protect him since he's my baby brother and after months of talking to him I love him already. Anyway, my dad is missing out. My brother is awesome.

The tea is always hotter when it's true. Stay tuned for future "AskReddit" threads.
