Stop Counting Other People's Money

"She's behind on her rent but she has money to go see The Photograph" um, a movie ticket is like $13 and rent is $750. Let people enjoy life regardless of their circumstances. I witness comments like this all the time. I've even been guilty of thinking them myself. I knew a girl who traveled all over the world but didn't have much.  I wanted to ask how but I knew it really wasn't my business. One day, she vented about how frustrating it was for people to constantly critique her for driving a 10-year-old car but been to 9 countries. "At one point in my life, all my money went to bills and essentials. I had no life experiences to show for it. I felt like a robot. Once I realized that bills are going to be there all my life, I prioritized traveling. No matter what I had to sacrifice, I always made sure I had money to partake in a new life experience." She was just venting but I learned a lot from what she said. 

All The Things I Never Said

"I don't even know who you are anymore," I thought to myself as I looked in the mirror after washing my face. My eyes were bloodshot red due to very little sleep. I spent most of the night going through his Instagram and looking at his digital footprint of broken promises. My degree is in Mass Communications but you would've thought it was in Criminal Justice because I was more of a detective than a girlfriend in this relationship. 

Things to Remember When You Get Discouraged

You've put in the work. You did the research. You've worked yourself tirelessly yet your goals seem further away than before you've started. As a result, your motivation has been dwindling away. You spend more time on memes than your dreams. It sucks, but it's normal. Everyone who has what you want has been in this space before. There's no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs, and I know you've been stepping but you have some more flights to go. I also know that you're tired but you don't need to quit. You just need to recharge. Here are a few reminders you should remember before you throw the towel in.
