They Can’t See Your Vision Because It’s Not Theirs to See: Go for It Anyway

Half the acceptance speeches you hear at award shows are from winners who family tried to convince them to go into something “more promising”. The sad reality of it is they only heard “I always knew she was going to be someone special” once they finally achieved their success. If the confidence you have in your dream is contingent on the approval of other people, you are in for a world of hurt. You have to declare yourself a winner first before anyone else.

Success can be a very lonely journey. It’s not always because you’re not loved. The people who love you most, unfortunately, may have limited vision. Sometimes people are so limited in their thinking, they project their fears onto you. They may mean well but it is not well for what you are building towards.  You cannot visualize your purpose through other people’s eyes. It was not meant for them to understand. It was given to you to understand.

You were given the vision but it’s your job to do the work. Your dreams weren’t placed into your mind to be left there. Apart of doing the work is not accepting the limits people put on your life. You cannot choose what people say but you can choose to accept it. You have to train your mind to discard other people’s doubt as well as your own self-doubt. Doubt causes procrastination and procrastination delays your dreams. Another part of doing the work is literally placing that vision in front of your face. I have sticky notes on my mirror, computer and the lock screen on my phone that reads that I am a prolific, successful, blogger, writer, and an influential woman of wisdom. There may be some people who do not believe that but it’s none of my business what people think of me. My business is to do the work and see myself as the woman I want to be and walk as her. God will work out the details.  I label my coffee cups and water bottles with the word “abundance”. Every morning I drink from a cup of abundance. Whatever you need to do to see your vision, do it. Breathe life into it.

In conclusion, you’re going to sound and look “crazy” to a lot of people. I’m sure you can think of a few people in prominent positions and wonder “How did they get there?”. Well, first it started with a vision. You weren’t the only one to wonder why they are where they’re at today. However, that never stopped them for going for what they wanted and believing they belong there. Have that same energy when it comes to your purpose.
